Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior QS to work on National Grid OHL projects within our thriving Energy business
We are looking for a Sr QS or an experienced QS looking to progress who has experience within the civil works arena, ideally delivering Utilities or power transmission projects.
The Person:
The successful candidate will be joining an existing team of passionate and dedicated individuals.
We are looking for senior quantity surveyor who has a civils background coupled with a working knowledge of NEC contracts.
You will be educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline) and you will be working towards professional membership of an appropriate organisation (for example, RICS/CIOB).
You will need to be able to evidence the management of large value sub-contracts as the role will requires a self-sufficient individual to support the team.

Responsibilities:
As a senior quantity surveyor you will
- Provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead in a geographical focused team.
- The provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the management team whilst ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets.
- Experience in Energy transmission projects would be an advantage but not essential
Already experienced as a senior quantity surveyor you will be You will have a detailed knowledge of company management systems including; Commercial and financial (Commercial Manager /COINS/Sphere). You will also have proven experience of managing quantity surveyors on a large contract.

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
