Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work on frameworks within our emerging defence business.

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to progress who has experience within either the civils or construction arenas.

The Person:

The successful candidate will be joining an existing team of passionate and dedicated individuals.

We are looking for a quantity surveyor who has either a civils or construction background coupled with a some working knowledge of NEC contracts.

You will be progressing towards or educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline) level, and you will be working towards professional membership of an appropriate organisation, for example RICS.

You will need to be able to evidence how you have supported or managed medium to large value sub-contracts or small value main contracts as the role will require a self-sufficient individual to support the team.

We are looking for people who share our passion for the project in progress whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment.

Responsibilities:

As a quantity surveyor, you will

  • Provide commercial support to aid with the delivery of any contracted work in a geographical focused team. 
  • The provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and support to the management team whilst ensuring the contract and its subcontracts achieve the appropriate commercial targets. 
  • If required, support any project tendering process, providing assistant with the development of the cost plan and modelling, here understanding the scope of works, risks, and opportunities.

Already experienced as a quantity surveyor or seeking ‘the next step’ in obtaining an increase in role and responsibility you will have a knowledge of company management systems including; Commercial and financial (CEMAR / COINS / 4Projects / Construction On Line).

About our Defence business

We have extensive experience in undertaking large scale defence projects, in delivering for companies and organisations such as BAE Systems and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

Projects such as the D58 / D59 Buildings, for BAE Systems in Barrow have recently been completed, here with the D58 building specifically being seismically qualified and a class 1 nuclear safety critical structure.
