Simon has led Morgan Sindall’s Infrastructure business since being appointed managing director in 2017. Starting out as a construction trainee and chartered quantity surveyor, his 30-year career encompasses strategic roles for major businesses across several sectors. Simon’s adept and dynamic leadership has propelled Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s ambitious progress in delivering long term, sustainable growth in our key sectors, enabled by creating an inclusive environment that unlocks the potential of our business and our people. This growth has been achieved alongside a firm commitment to creating mutual, long term value for communities and stakeholders. Simon’s free time is spent with his family. He is an avid fan of rugby and football, and volunteers as chairman of a local charity that provides recreational facilities for families in his area.

Mark Atkinson
Finance Director
Mark is a chartered accountant who joined Morgan Sindall Infrastructure in 2020, having formerly held senior leadership roles within several prominent accountancy and construction businesses. Responsible for implementing a progressive finance strategy, Mark champions the use of management information and technology-led solutions to deliver insights and game changing improvements. He is an advocate of the power that diversity and inclusion have for a business’s ability to challenge the status quo, drive innovation, and achieve improved results. As a keen sportsperson with a young family, Mark spends his time outside work coaching grassroots rugby and football, as well as running, cycling, and playing golf.

Andy Ryder
Commercial Director
Andy oversees our Commercial function, providing leadership on governance and helping to deliver our business plan. An MRICS chartered Quantity Surveyor, Andy joined us in November 2023 from Laing O’Rourke, where he spent the last 17 years of his career in a variety of roles. With more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, his expertise covers disciplines including direct project delivery, governance, leadership, and directorship. Andy’s project history includes major developments such as Liverpool One, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Edinburgh St. James, Everton Stadium, and several projects for the University of Oxford. Outside work, Andy enjoys watching football, coaching his son’s football team, walking, surfing and skiing.

Peter Kirk
Managing Director - Energy
Peter joined Morgan Sindall Infrastructure in 2019 as Managing Director of our Rail business, being appointed to his current role in July 2022. As a senior leader with more than 15 years’ experience, Peter has a unique track record in delivering results within manufacturing, construction, and technology, across rail and utilities sectors, both in the UK and abroad. He is a chartered engineer with the IMechE and is committed to ensuring that our people are empowered to develop and achieve their career goals and be recognised for their success. A family-orientated man and keen sportsperson, Peter enjoys sailing, playing golf and refereeing rugby.

Sarah Reid
Managing Director - Water and Highways
Sarah joined our business in October 2022 from Network Rail, where she was most recently route director for the East Coast Main Line. Prior to this, Sarah worked in several senior roles at companies including Bombardier, Invensys Rail and Siemens. Sarah brings more than 20 years’ experience of delivering complex and challenging projects while working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to ensure consistent, safe delivery. She is also a founder of Never Mind the Gap, a cross rail industry initiative that aims to provide training and work placements for women. Outside work, Sarah enjoys exercising, and going for walks with her family and pet dog.

Eldon Garnett
Managing Director - Nuclear
Eldon joined Morgan Sindall Infrastructure in 2018, having previously held senior positions in major engineering, telecoms, utilities, and construction businesses. He was instrumental in our nuclear business securing the £1.8 billion, 20-year Programme and Project Partners contract with Sellafield Ltd. Eldon began his engineering career on a graduate scheme and has since led teams to design and deliver high-profile infrastructure projects around the world. With overall operational responsibility for our nuclear business unit, Eldon is driven by his commitment to challenging the status quo. He is a keen advocate of our development programmes, and has actively supported apprentices, graduates and armed forces redeployments in carving out long-term roles within our business. Outside of work, Eldon is a keen cyclist and cycling coach.

Olivia Perkins
Managing Director - Rail
Olivia joined Morgan Sindall Infrastructure in July 2021 as an Area Director for our Rail business, being promoted to her current role in July 2022. A Chartered Civil Engineer, with more than 15 years’ experience of delivering complex civil engineering and rail projects, Olivia’s career developed at Kier group covering multiple roles, such as those within Joint Ventures covering schemes such as Crossrail, HS2 and latterly leading the Luton DART project. Olivia is passionate about challenging the status quo within the industry alongside developing and supporting individuals and teams. She is a mentor and enjoys taking part in events to discuss and promote careers in the industry. Outside work Olivia is a keen traveller, enjoying exploring and experiencing different cultures. She is also a keen cyclist and raises money for charity through various challenges.

Carole Bardell-Wise
SHEQ and People Director
Carole joined our business in January 2022, as Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Director. Carole was previously executive HSE director for Crossrail Ltd and her addition to the company brings a wealth of senior leadership experience and knowledge from the infrastructure, rail and aviation sectors. She plays a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s health and wellbeing, safety, environmental and quality programmes and standards, as well as supporting our commitment to delivering innovative and responsible infrastructure across the UK. Outside work Carole is a keen runner and enjoys a range of outdoor activities.

Gary Shuttleworth
Strategic Development Director
Gary leads within the business on growth, social impact and external engagement. Joining us in 2019 as framework director for our Highways business, Gary became business development director within our Nuclear business in January 2021 before being promoted to his current role in April 2022. With more than 25 years of multi sector experience, Gary has a wealth of knowledge in building long-term strategic relationships with customers, identifying and developing future opportunities and understanding market conditions. A founding member of the All Together Cumbria social enterprise and a key supporter of Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s legacy ambitions, he was also appointed to the board of Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster in 2021. Outside work, Gary enjoys spending time with his family and supporting his local football team.
