The Morgan Sindall Infrastructure team is celebrating after helping the Energy Coast UTC to secure the Best Industry Engagement Award at the prestigious, Cumbria-wide, Golden Apple Awards on Friday 4 October.

The award was in recognition of the employer engagement partnership between Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and the Energy Coast UTC. Principal Cherry Tingle said: “I am absolutely delighted that all of the hard work and dedication of our amazing staff team and employer partners has been recognised through these awards. They work incredibly hard and have committed themselves to making Energy Coast UTC the thriving, winning school that it is and will continue to be.

Their support both for each other and the student body is reflected in the excellent results we receive, the fact that almost 90 per cent of leavers go on to apprenticeships and in our recent ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted result. Our winning employer partnerships with companies such as Morgan Sindall Infrastructure give students a solid foundation upon which they can build a career in the engineering field and beyond.

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s massive contribution to our UTC, including a range of employer projects and sponsorship has resulted in a very welcome and well-deserved win. Morgan Sindall Infrastructure work with students every week on real life projects. They also ensure students have valuable work experience that will help them gain apprenticeships.”

The Energy Coast UTC also won the Best Secondary School category and was Highly Commended for the Best Community Initiative.
